OVADA is very excited to announce that in September 2016 we will be starting a new Contemporary Painting Course. We are delighted to confirm Hannah Brown, (London) Laura Degenhardt, (Oxford), Eleanor Moreton (London) and Luke Skiffington (Oxford) as Guest Tutors on the Course. These established tutors are all practicing artists and will each run individual projects: Painting Objects, Painting Nature, Painting History and Abstracting the Figure.
Course Leader, Jan Crombie, will deliver day workshops aimed to demystify aspects of the painting process including: Surfaces and Primers; Themes and Style; Memory / Imagination; Adding and Removing; Colour / Saturation / Sheen; and Collage / Print / Text.
The combination of projects and workshops aims to encourage confidence in using the tools of the trade while exploring varied themes and approaches to contemporary painting.

A variety of ideas, processes and techniques will be explored. The Course might also suit artists who have a practice that doesn’t include painting but who might wish to find new skills in this area.
Students are encouraged to allow time to work on the projects between sessions. There is limited storage available at OVADA so students will be required to take their equipment home at the end of each session.
